Lyle Gunnarson
1955-2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lyle Gunnarson on February 16^th, 2023 in his 67^th year.  Lyle was an immensely proud and devoted father to his children.  He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

Lyle was born May 24, 1955. He was raised in Prince Albert, SK by Gunnar and Florence Gunnarson.  He started his career at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary in 1978, where he worked until he retired in 2007.  He took pride in his career.

Lyle enjoyed life at the lake – fishing, ice fishing, boating, playing horseshoes and entertaining friends around the fire.  He was a huge fan of the Saskatchewan Rough Riders and Calgary Flames.

Lyle is survived by his children, Laurren (Rick) Whitford and children, Jessica, Taylor (Bryton), Cheyenne, and Brock; Angie (Jeff Ens) Townsend and children, Dustin, Tiana, Rylan, and Kyler; Nicole (Travis) Robertson and children, Daenarys and Aveya; and Justin (Taylor) Gunnarson and children, Jude, Sophia and Axel; siblings, Rod, Trenton, and Vernus; great-granddaughter, Liv (Taylor and Bryton). Lyle was predeceased by his parents, Gunnar and Florence; his brothers, Brian, Doug and Les.

A Celebration of Lyle’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at River Park Funeral Home. Casual attire welcome, rough rider clothing encouraged.
