In Loving Memory of Lyla Lillian Levandoski
Lyla was born on June 27, 1934, in Spiritwood District, SK to William and Lillian Seppala. Lyla passed away August 7, 2026, in Leoville, SK at the age of 92 years.
After Lyla graduated from Chitek Lake School she went to St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon to take nursing. In 1957 she graduated as a RN Nurse. After working in numerous hospitals, she went back to school and in 1996 got her teaching degree at McGill University in Montreal. She taught nursing at George Brown College until she retired. In 2003 Lyla and her husband moved back to Chitek Lake to the Seppala family home where she grew up. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, needlepoint, quilting and getting together with the ladies at the Senior Centre to work on their crafts and chat. Lyla’s last month of her life was spent at Evergreen in Leoville. She enjoyed her stay there. A big thank you to the staff for taking such great care of her.
Lyla is lovingly remembered by; her sister Cherie Seppala of Kitimat, BC her sister-in-law: Maureen Seppala, her brothers-in-law: Richard Chenot, Art Emmerson and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends
Lyla is predeceased by: her husband: Norman, her parents: William and Lillian Seppala (nee Anderson), her brothers: Leo, Charlie, and Jack, her brother-in-law: Garnet McNab and her sisters-in-law: Glenna and Alice
A funeral mass was held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Ste. Thérèse Roman Catholic Church in Leoville, Saskatchewan. Lyla was laid to rest in Peaceful Pines Cemetery
