JENSEN, Luela Ann
April 5, 1949 – October 29, 2023
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Luela Ann Jensen (nee Mountford). Luela was born in Big River, SK and lovingly adopted by the Mountford family of Prince Albert, SK.
Luela was active in both farm life and her community, participating in 4H and band as a child and young teen, and later became a member of the Prince Albert Exhibition Association board. She attended business college and worked as a stenographer in PA for many years.
Her incredible strength saw her through difficult times, such as caring for her daughter Keri-Lyn through a lengthy battle with cancer until her death in 1987.
Luela found her true life partner in Garry, and they married in 1988. They welcomed their son Lorne in 1989 and daughter Lindsay in 1991. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker, in addition to working on the farm and later a nursing home. She and Garry retired to Watson, SK in 2015.
Despite moving several times, Luela maintained close friendships and made new friends wherever she went. She enjoyed playing old-time music, gardening, family trips, and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was one-of-a-kind: hardworking, strong, helpful, warm-hearted and funny.
Luela’s last few years were spent battling illness but through it all she stayed positive and enjoyed every minute she spent with her family, even while in pain. Luela passed peacefully at Humboldt Hospital and will be missed dearly by her husband Garry, her children Lorne (Katie) and Lindsay (Raymond), her grandchildren Alistair, Autumn, Thomas, and Cassidy, her brothers Robert and Dennis (Lynda), numerous nieces and nephews, sisters- and brother-in-law, and very special friends Geraldine Denesyk, Valerie Toft, Janice Burke, and Shirley Smith. She was predeceased by her daughter Keri-Lyn Robins, parents Bob and Edith, brother William, and nephew Todd.
The Funeral Service will be held at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Luela may be made to Food Banks of Saskatchewan.
The family of Luela Jensen would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Humboldt Hospital.
