1923 – 2021
Lucy Whitefish, late of Evergreen Health Centre in Leoville, SK, formerly of Big River First Nation, passed away on January 9, 2021, at the age of 97 years surrounded by her loving family.
Lucy was born on July 8, 1923, in the Leoville District to Nora and Tom Thomas.
Lucy is lovingly remembered by: Her children: Peter (Albertine) Whitefish; Allan (Edna) Whitefish; Maurice (Lillian) Whitefish; Harvey (Clara) Whitefish; Lillian Whitefish; Norman Whitefish; Matilda Dillon; Her daughter in law: Kim Whitefish; Her adopted daughter: Margaret Bear; Her adopted brother: Peter Nippi; Her siblings: Jim Thomas and Dora Thomas; Her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Lucy was predeceased by Her parents: Tom and Nora Thomas; Her husband: George Whitefish; Her sons: Raymond, Edward, Andrew, Modest, and Donald Whitefish, and two infant sons; Her special grandson: Dustin Bear; Her adopted sons: Johnny Angus and Tommy Bear; Her siblings: Mary, Josephine, Jack, Mike, Roy, Sam Thomas;
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, the family had a private wake and funeral service take place on Big River First Nation. Lucy was laid to rest in the Whitefish Anglican Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers for Lucy’s services were all those who knew Lucy and shared her life journey. The active pallbearers were Al Whitefish, Adolphus Whitefish, Elvis Whitefish, Wally McAdam, Harvey Jr. Whitefish, Conrad Whitefish.
