Luc Lehouillier
May 7th, 1926 – December 25th, 2013
Luc was born on May 25th, 1926 to Alfred and Augustine Lehouillier into a family of 9 boys and 1 girl. He was brought up on the farm in Mattes and like his brothers and sister, he took care of day to day chores while attending school in Mattes.
At the age of sixteen, Luc left home, working and doing odd jobs for farmers, later working in Montreal, then travelled to Sudbury, Ontario, landing a job in a smelter boiling room.
After 2 years, he moved back west into the Peace River country of Alberta where he worked many years operating caterpillars, constructing runways for airports and driving trucks for oil companies.
In 1958 he met his future wife Clara Head. They were married in June 1960. He then decided to stay home to take care of his farm and work as a mechanic for his brother Laurier. Luc and Clara were parents to many foster children over the years. In 1979, their marriage ended and they both moved on with their lives. He continued to farm and do odd mechanical jobs until he sold the farm to his nephew Guy Lehouillier.
Luc retired to the town of Debden and moved into “Le Foyer Joyal” where he worked part-time as “maintenance man”. In May 2010 he moved to the “Debden Manner” where he spent his last few years visiting with his family, neighbours and friends.
Luc was a quiet, reserved man, never needing nor wanting much attention. He came into this world quietly and left in the same manner. Luc, you will be sadly missed by all your family and friends. We love you, we will never forget you.
