1937 – 2019
On Sunday, June 23, 2019, Louis George Morin, late of Big River First Nation, passed away in the Shellbrook Hospital with his family at his side. Louis was born on Jun 18, 1937, to Juliette and Arthur Morin in Big River, SK.
The Wake Services for Louis will commence on Monday, June 24, 2019, at 8:00 pm from the Big River First Nation Band Hall. The Funeral Service for Louis will then follow on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at 11:00 am, also from the Band Hall. Interment will take place in the Whitefish Catholic Cemetery.
Louis is lovingly remembered by: His daughters, Shirley Morin, Audrey Bird, and Geraldine (Rabbitskin) Whitefish; His sons, Mervin McAdam, Gerald (Virginia) Morin, and Jason Bird; His adopted son, Harvey Whitefish; His step-sons, Willie (Cora) Thomas and Harry (Maureen) Thomas; His step-daughters, Lorraine and Sylvia Thomas, and Leona Sasakamoose; His bebe, Gregory Thomas; His sister, Gloria Rainey; His granddaughter, Sheryl (Stewart) Morin; His 1st cousins, Chief Bruce (Leona) Morin, Bradley (Sandra) Morin, and Ina Morin; as well as numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Louis is predeceased by: His parents, Arthur Morin and Juliette Weenonis; His brothers, George Lachance, Willie Weenonis, Ervin Weenonis; and 6 brothers in infancy; His sister, Margaret Weenonis; His uncle, Gaspar Morin; His aunt, Margaret Morin; His step father, Jack Weenonis; His two special friends, Catherine Whitefish and Margarite Rose Thomas; His daughters, Girlie Lachance and Brenda Morin. The active pallbearers were Adolfas Whitefish, Brandon Morin, Adrian Joseph Bryan Morin, Emile Rabbitskin, Lenny Dreaver, Mervin Morin and James Morin. Louis will be laid to rest in the Whitefish Anglican Cemetery.
