Henry “Lorne” Siddon passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Mona, his three children, Wendy (Cam) Chartier, Rick (Suz) Siddon and Kerry (Don) Battenfelder, his sisters Marg (Glenn) Nicholls and Shirley (Bud) Wells, four grandchildren, Adam, Alex, Amy and Cale, his sister-in-law Doris Siddon as well as many nephews and nieces and extended family. Lorne was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Ferne Siddon, his brother Roy and sister Gwen Goodman. Lorne’s pride and joy was always his family with Christmas being his most special time of year, he will always be remembered by reciting his version of “T’was the Night Before Christmas” as the crowd gathered around him. He was a kind and gentle soul who never rushed through life, as his favorite saying was always “just give me a minute”. Lorne had many close friends who he enjoyed spending time with. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at RUH, 6th floor, Medicine ward as well as the Palliative care staff for their excellent care and support. They would also like to thank Hillcrest Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens for assisting the family with the funeral arrangements. A Graveside service for Lorne will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Calgary, AB. A Celebration of Life to follow at Don and Kerry’s home for all to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local SPCA. Arrangements entrusted to Phil Fredette.
