Lorne Allen Semeniuk
1963 – 2023
After a short but courageous battle with cancer, Lorne Semeniuk passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK on February 27, 2023.
Lorne was born on May 5, 1963 in Duncan, BC. His family then moved to Golden, BC which is where he spent his childhood years before moving to Prince Albert, SK. In 1980, he moved to Hudson Bay, SK where he worked at Sask Forest Products for 26 years. After the closure of the mill, Lorne worked in the oil sands in Alberta as a scaffolder.
Lorne enjoyed his summers, spending lots of time outside gardening. He always had the most beautiful flowers. His hobbies included sports, travelling, camping, playing cards, and he loved being in the company of his family. There were many hours spent telling stories and jokes, and lots of laughter shared between Lorne and his loved ones.
Lorne will be missed by his siblings Darrel (Wanda, deceased) Semeniuk, Gary Semeniuk, Darlene (Floyd) Hannah, and Dennis Semeniuk; nieces Trisha Semeniuk, Katie Hannah, and Cassie Hannah; nephews Derek Semeniuk and Cole Hannah; great nieces and nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends; as well as his sister’s (Diane, deceased) little dog Cooper, who had been his companion since her passing.
Lorne is predeceased by his parents, John and Eileen Semeniuk; sister Diane Semeniuk; and sister-in-law, Wanda Semeniuk.
As per Lorne’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
