Lorette Coates

On October 14th, 2018, after a short battle with cancer, Lorette Coates passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital.
Lorette was born, along with her twin sister Lorraine, in Loon Lake, Saskatchewan on September 12th 1952. Lorette lived in Edmonton and Saskatoon before settling in Prince Albert with her husband Rod Coates.
Lorette had a soft spot in her heart for all children and spent many years fostering children in their home, right up until she passed away. Lorette was a big part of the lives of her many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She had the ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved and as a result, many friends became family.
Family was a big part of who Lorette was. She was always making time to visit and be a part of everyone’s life. Lorette was very fond of crocheting and made many blankets for her children and grandchildren. Lorette loved to fish and spend time at their lake cabin.
Lorette had immense courage and strength during her illness and always assured everyone that she was going to be ok.
Lorette has left to mourn, her husband Rod; her children Shauna (John) Biro, Jarrod (Kim) Coates, and Sheldon (Kerry) Coates; her grandchildren, Kennedy, Colton, Alexa, Kaedyn, Minghella, Keelan, Xander, Lachlan, and Talon; her special children, Kaydence, Jared and Leila; her sisters, Yvette Regnier, Judy Barker, and Lorraine Decker; her brother Leo Regnier; along with many nieces, nephews, foster children and family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Henri and Noemia Regnier and Rod’s parents, Wilfred and Hilda Coates; her sister in infancy, Henriette Regnier; brother, Henry Regnier; brother Octave Regnier, his wife Ann and their son Brian Regnier; her brother, Clem Regnier and his son Ronnie Regnier; her brother Lionel Regnier, his wife Florence and their daughter, Laurelle Regnier; her brother, Marcel Regnier; her brother-in-law Ken Decker; and her grandon J’Von Coates.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, October 19, 2018 at St Joseph Roman Catholic Church – 260 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK. with Father Tuyen Vu officiating.
Friends so wishing may make donations to the Victoria Hospital Foundation – 1200 24 St W, Prince Albert, SK S6V 5T4 – in memory of Lorette as tokens of remembrance.
