Lorene McLeod
1932 ~ 2023
Lorene Clara McLeod passed away on June 8, 2023, with family members by her side. Lorene was born on June 11, 1932, on a farm in Holbein, Saskatchewan. She was born to Arthur and Eleanor Tiegen. Lorene had three siblings, Olga, Leona, and Rodney. She married Wilbert McLeod in 1949 having five children, Thiry, Graden (Nancy), Elton (Mary), Karen, Cynthia (predeceased) (David). She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Our mother was a great example of a woman who was the “get dirty, dust me off and send me off again” type person. Having faced many adversities, loss of her arm in a farm accident in 1984, and blindness later in life. But if you knew her, she was compassionate, community minded, fun, loving, and a lover of animals. She loved to travel and experience life. She worked for people and owned her own business in Candle Lake, while living in Buckland, SK, almost her full adult life. She will be always remembered for her “you should,” always the thinker and planner. She enjoyed living at Pointe West in her later years, and made many friends there.
The Celebration of Lorene’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Following the service, there will be a time of fellowship in the Arbor Lounge. Donations in Lorene’s memory may be made to the CNIB Guide Dogs Foundation, https://www.cnib.ca/en/programs-and-services/live/cnib-guide-dogs/support-cnib-guide-dogs?region=on .
