Mr. Lloyd Melvin Engstrom, late of Big River Health Centre Care Home passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the age of 90 years.
Lloyd was born in Canwood on September 7, 1923 to John and Emma Engstrom. He went to school in Mayview and later went to work in bush camps as well as farm in the Mayview district for many, many years. In 2009 Lloyd moved to Shellbrook and later to the Big River Health Centre Care Home, where he resided until his passing. Lloyd is lovingly survived by his nephews, Allen (Lori Wildey) Anderson and children Shawna and Jessica; Roland Anderson and family; Garnet (Ida) Stene and family; Omar (Diane) Peel; Clifford Anderson and family; his nieces, Elanor (Gordie) Bishop and family; Shirley Spafford and family; Sharon (John) Hanson and family; Lorraine (Glen) Jonasson and family; Margret (Mervin) Roode and family; Tammy (John Fox) Anderson and children Owen and Ander; Shirley Anderson; as well as numerous great great nieces and nephews. Lloyd was predeceased by, his parents Emma and John Engstrom; his brother Elden (Clara) Engstrom; his sisters, Florance (Seth) Anderson, Evelyn (Geo.) Peel, Agnes (Victor) Stene, and sister Mildred in infancy; his nephews, Mervin Anderson and Warner Stene.
A Memorial Service for Lloyd was held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Shellbrook Seniors Hall with Pastor Chris Dean as Officiant. Interment took place in the Dry Creek Cemetery. In lieu of tributes, memorial donations may be made in memory of Lloyd to the Big River Health Centre (Box 100 Big River, SK S0J 0E0).
