Lloyd W.D. Anderson
(January 8, 1921 – August 27, 2011)
Lloyd went from the army to farming near Star City where he was born and then after nine years there with Elaine they followed his brothers to Chicago where he was a foreman on an assembly line for another nine years. They returned to Prince Albert where Elaine's family were and Lloyd was a Corrections Officer at the Provincial Jail ending up as their storekeeper. He had a severe stroke at 48 years of age and they moved back to Star City. He then spent his time on carpentry, yard work and fishing every Spring at Jan Lake with Allan Stead and Little Vickar.
He belonged to the Masonic Lodge and Shriners as well as the Legion in Star City. The Star City Coffee Shop and his buddies saw him early every morning when he picked up the mail and had his coffee. A second stroke in 2007 took him and Elaine to Caskey Place in Melfort where he enjoyed the staff and people at lunch every day. He went from the hospital to Chateaux Providence in St. Brieux to Parkland Place where everyone was so good to him. He passed away in Parkland Place at 90 years of age on August 27th, 2011.
Lloyd lived a varied and full life; he was a people's person. His mother Adele, father Oscar and brothers Jack, Fred, Allan and Sigurd predeceased him as well as sister-in-law Mavis Tucker and brother-in-law Ken Tucker. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elaine (nee Tucker), sister-in-law Shirley Tucker, brother-in-law Boyd Tucker, sister-in-law Mildred Carr and their families, nieces and nephews and long-time family friend Edna Fidyk and her family.
A Graveside Service for Lloyd was held from the Star City Cemetery, on September 1, 2011 with Pastor Dave MacPherson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army. 752-3838.
