Linda Marleen Rask (McComas)

May 21, 1947 – July 2, 2026

Linda was born May 21,1947 in Shellbrook and passed away July 2, 2026, at home with husband Harvey and all 4 children at her side.

Linda was predeceased by her parents Earl and Phyllis McComas (Shellbrook, SK) and Sister Nora (Gerein). She leaves to mourn Harvey, her loving husband of 60 years; sons Budd (Leanne) and Dean (Sherry); daughters Maureen (Cam) and Sheri; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brothers Jim McComas (Sue), Ken McComas (Bati), Roger McComas (Shelly); brother-in-law Gary Gerein; sister-in-law Ethel Pashovitz; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Linda and Harvey raised their family on the farm at Nestledown where they grew grain crops and livestock. They were also involved in many activities in Canwood.

Linda was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, (great)grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend, and the heart of her family. We are so blessed to have her as our mom. She never missed a beat… Gave us strict curfews and always met us at the door; sometimes it was with a smile, other times with a lesson.

She was an amazing supporter and the biggest cheerleader to all her family. She made every effort to attend all events her family were involved in whether it was hockey, soccer, football, track, figure skating, skateboarding, music, singing and the list goes on. If she couldn’t be there in person, she made every effort to find it on tv, streaming or wherever.

Over the years Linda worked at Cornwell’s Drug Store, on the farm, and later at the Whispering Pines Care Home in Canwood. She loved the people she met, the residents and of course her coworkers. So many great friendships were made that she truly cherished.

Linda and Harvey spent their winters in Mexico for over 20 years where they were hosts, tour guides, and golf partners to countless family and friends who visited them in Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta. So many special friendships were forged over those years, and many came to be considered family.

Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2022. She had surgery in January of 2023 and battled for the next 3 plus years going through many appointments, treatments and medication changes. She relied on her faith through it all, was able to put a smile on her face and forge ahead enjoying many good times. One of the many family highlights was driving to Denver to pick up Sheri and her family before heading to Nashville to see her grandson Brayden, drafted 14th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Linda had the ability to work through the pain. With a smile on her face, she had the time to say hi or squeeze in a visit, always caring about what was going on in your life.

She was so thankful for the care she received from all the doctors, nurses and homecare providers, which is echoed by Harvey and the kids.

Linda was a beautiful, wonderful person inside and out and will always be remembered for her kindness and the love she had for her family.

We love you Linda and miss you beyond words.

Memorial Service was held for Linda on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Shellbrook with Rev. Emmanuel Aristide officiating. Linda was laid to rest in the Shellbrook Cemetery.
