LILLIAN ANN SIMPSON-ELMER
Lillian Ann Simpson-Elmer was born in Prince Albert, SK on May 6, 1927 and passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2013. She attended school in Prince Albert and then University becoming a teacher in Prince Albert and area for over 33 years. The majority of her career was spent in the Saskatchewan Rivers School Division (formerly P. A. Public) where she taught at King George, Queen Elizabeth, Arthur Pechey and John Diefenbaker schools. Ann was married to William John Simpson for 33 years (1951 – 1984) and later to Vincent Elmer for 12 years (1996 – 2008). She was a life member of the P.A. Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch No. 2 and received their “Meritorious Service” award in 2008. She was a long time member of the A.C.W. Lady Paul at St. George's Anglican Church and the P.A. chapter of the Superannuated teachers association. Over the years she enjoyed fishing, bowling, travelling, bus tours, reading, and her endless volunteering. Family was important to her and she was very proud of her grandchildren. Ann is survived by her two sons: Bill (Fran) Simpson and their son Patrick (Katy), and Peter (Kama) Simpson and their sons Will and Max. She is also survived by her step-sons Craig (Marilyn) Elmer (children Sean and Catherine), Garnet (Linda) Elmer (children Kiley and Ashlyn), and Dwight (Elaine) Elmer (children Stacy, Kisa, and Scott), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husbands Bill Simpson and Vince Elmer, her parents John and Catherine, and her siblings Jack Nelson, Kathleen (James) Taggart, Jim (Marj) Nelson, Glenn Nelson, Rae (Allan) Carmen, and Donald (Hilda and Malvina) Nelson. The family would like to thank Dr. Davis and the 6th floor staff at the Victoria Hospital for the wonderful care Mom received in the last months of her life. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 30 at 2:00 p.m. at St. George's Anglican Church, 1104 – 4 Street East. Archdeacon Andrew Hoskin will officiate. Interment will take place at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens, Garden of Sermon on the Mount. Anyone wishing to place memorials may do so to the St. George's Anglican Church or the Cancer Society of Saskatchewan. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Donald M.
