Lester Lloyd Austin

Lester Lloyd Austin, late of Paddockwood, passed away on December 29, 2012, peacefully at his home at the age of 89 years. Lester was born in Bateman, SK to Harold and Mary. Lester eventually settled in Paddockwood after serving in the South Saskatchewan Regiment overseas, until 1946. He worked in road construction and bought the farm in 1950. He married Rita in 1951, and began farming full time in 1960. He was an active community member, serving on many boards. He was a loving father, husband and grandfather, and will be missed. He is survived by his daughter Barb (Tim) Crosland and their children Chelsea and Brett; his son Gerald Austin and his son Andrew; his son Lee (Isabelle) Austin and their children Carly and Danielle (Steve); his sister Grace McNolty; and his adopted grandchildren Jayson (Kari) Marsh and their children Jaylyn and Kingston. Lester was pre-deceased by his wife Rita; his parents Harold and Mary; his siblings: Marian (Harry) Swenson, Evelyn (Norman) Briscoe, Edward Austin and Jimmy Austin; and his brother-in-law: Gordie McNolty. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 1pm, at MacKenzie Chapel, Prince Albert. Arrangements in care of Northern Funeral Service, MacKenzie Chapel.
