Lester Campbell

1921 – 2016
We are saddened to announce the passing of Lester Ray Campbell at the age of 95 years. Born in Paddockwood, Les grew up there and married Dora Wildey. They were blessed with 3 sons. In his earlier years, Les was a carpenter and built many good homes in PA. He was always proud of his skill as his chosen trade and was involved in projects until his early 90’s. His work also took him to Edmonton for many years. He loved the company of others who respected his calm caring demeanor. Reminiscing his lifetime stories will be forever missed. Years after the passing of his wife Dora he found companionship with Joan Wildey, married, and spent their years together visiting relatives and friends. He served active duty in WWII and was always proud of his status as a veteran. Les is survived by grandchildren and daughter Gail Ridgeway, Terry Campbell, Greg (June) Campbell, Stacy (Rhonda) Campbell, Brent Campbell and their respective families; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends dear to his heart. He was predeceased by his wife Dora (nee Wildey); his sons Larry, Roy and Russ; brothers Kilburn and Al; sister Orphie and wife Joan Wildey (nee Herron). Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date. Interment will be held on the long weekend in May 2017 at the Paddockwood Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1738 Quebec Avenue, Unit 26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9 or to the Canadian Diabetes Association, PO Box 2013, Stn BRM B, Toronto, ON M7Y 2L3.
