Leonard Thomas Margolis
Born March 15th, 1943.
Loving, caring, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend left this world on Feb 4, 2021 at the age of 77, after a short but courageous battle with health issues, surrounded by his loving children.
He has left to mourn his passing, his children: Kurt (Terri), Lexie and Kale; Kari-Lyn (Stuart), DeShawn and Tiyanna. As well as daughter Teresa Quaye. Also, his siblings: brother and best friend Martin; David; sisters Darrell and Pauline as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Sam and Frances, sister Sharon and his special little brother Harry.
Leonard was probably best known for his service to his hometown of Kinistino. He served as mayor of Kinistino from 1982 until his passing. He was also very involved in numerous committees, boards and anything else that he thought would make Kinistino a better place to live for everyone.
If he wasn’t wearing his Mayor’s hat you could find him in a rink watching his grandsons playing hockey, at his weekend getaway better known as the Northern Lights Casino and always looking forward to his annual Vegas trip with his brothers.
At Leonard’s request there will not be a funeral service. He wanted a celebration of life to be held on Main Street Kinistino in the summer of 2021. Of course, providing that Covis as dad referred to it, will allow it.
If anyone would like to make a memorial contribution, we ask that it be either towards the building of the new community centre in Kinistino or the Kinistino Sports Complex.
He will be greatly missed by his family, his friends, his community and those that knew him.
