It is with great sadness that the family of Lena Radke (nee: Slusar) announce her passing on August 29, 2026, at the age of 98.

Lena was born in Alvena, SK, where her family lived until they moved to Carrot River.  There she attended the Bell Boy School. Upon completion of her schooling, she met and married Gordon Radke, who later passed in 1969.

She made her career in the food service industry, until she stepped into ownership of numerous restaurants. She was an amazing cook and baker, known for her outstanding dill pickles, and was generous with the fruits of her labour. She had a love for this up until her passing.

Lena is survived by her partner, Dennis Radke; her sister, Helen Meeks, and numerous relatives of the Radke and Slusar families.
