1926 – 2016
Lena Marie (nee Beaulieu) FOLLIET passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Herb Bassett Home (Golden Hills) in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 90 years. She was born on May 30, 1926 in Trois-Riviéres, Quebec to Emile and Marie Alma (nee Pelletier) Beaulieu along with 9 siblings, Fern, Paul, Roger, Lucille, Moriss, Jean, Yvonne, Wilfred and Sylvio. Lena loved to play baseball and ice skate. She attended Duck Lake School. She had many bowling trophies and was a member of the Alouette Pins and the Catholic Womens Club. She was a farmers wife, bakery and restaurant owner, as well as having borders, cleaning at Stobar Elementary School and the High School in Duck Lake, SK. Lena resided in Quebec, Saskatchewan farms, Duck, Lake and Prince Albert. Her hobbies included knitting, gardening, playing cards, dancing, bingo, bowling, singing, listening to country music, watching soap operas, travelling, going to church every Sunday, selling Avon and joining the Alouette Club. Lena always made donations to the Church, Blue Cross and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. She was very humerous, very outgoing and an excellent mother. Lena is survived by her daughter Lucille (Folliet) and son-in-law Peter “Peto” Nejmeldeen of BC; her daughter Majela “Madge” (Folliet) and son-in-law Reginald “Reg” Vaughan from Northside, SK; her son Albert Folliet and daughter-in-law Caroline (Kieser) from Martensville, SK; her grandchildren Dale, Laurie, Nicole, Lee-Ann, Amanda, Shannon, Koren, Jason and their spouses; her great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Victor Folliet; her siblings Fern, Paul, Roger, Lucille, Moriss, Jean, Yvonne, Wilfred and Sylvio. Thanks to all Lena’s family and friends that shared in her life. Lena was a sensitive, loving and good natured person. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Duck Lake Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301 – 2550 – 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1 or to the Herb Bassett Home (Golden Hills), 1200 – 24th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 4N9.
