It is with great sadness the family of Lawrence Belzevick announces his sudden passing on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026.

Lawrence was born to early life on a farm a few miles south of Weirdale, however he spent the majority of his youth in the village of Meath Park. Like most kids who grew up in a small community, Lawrence had a small but tight group of friends that he hung with throughout his teens. He was an avid World War II buff and carried this interest throughout his life. He not only read hundreds of books about the war but his interest also carried him to communicate with veterans who fought on both sides in the conflict. He was a walking encylopedia on facts and figures of the war. His other passion was vehicles. From the time he was old enough to drive he had passion for cars and especially 2 door coupes. In fact he never owned a car that wasn’t that style and if it was a two door convertible then all the better. His vehicles were always immaculately kept. It’s not too far from the truth that he spent as much time repairing and tending to them as driving them.

Lawrence’s entire working career was in the city of Prince Albert. He spent many years in the hospitality industry including the Sheraton Marlboro and Imperial 400. However, the majority of his working career with was with Thorpe Bros. where he enjoyed his work and relationships there for well over two decades. Larry was a hard working, conscientious person and his employment was important part of his life.

Larry said the best thing that happened to him living in P.A. was meeting Donna. They enjoyed a 25 year companionship and were inseparable from each other. Most weekends both could usually be found helping out Donna’s father George Balan at his service station. They thoroughly enjoyed each other’s company and were proof that you don’t need a lot of things to be happy in life. There is no doubt the years of being together with Donna were the best of Larry’s life.

Leaving to mourn his passing is his companion, Donna Balan; his daughter Angie of Burnaby, B.C.; sisters Debbie (Clint) Mauthe and Connie (Andrew) Herdin; 7 brothers; Allan, Ben (Kay), John (Wanda), Gary (Marge), Rick, Don (Bonnie), Dave (June) and numerous nieces and nephews. Lawrence was predeceased by his father and mother: Mike and Doris; sister, Roslyn; nephew Chris; brother in law Larry and sister in law Lorna.

Larry has been entrusted to the Martens Warman Funeral Home for cremation. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
