Lawrence James Sandry
Lawrence was born in Big River, SK on August 23, 1946, on the family farm where he remained his entire life. He had a love of farming and raising cattle. Hockey and baseball kept him entertained in his free time. When his health started to fail, he had to scale back from farming but stayed interested in what was going on at the farm. The last 6 months he spent at the Debden Heritage Manor.
Lawrence is survived by his brother Norman Sandry from Big River; his sister Pat (Ron) Kristian from Prince Albert and their children Pam (Duane) Galloway of Calgary and their children Chelsea (Michael) Bitz from Saskatoon, Kendra (Jonathan MacGowan) from Saskatoon; Kevin (Kerri) Kristian from North Battleford and their son Morgan (Briah Atkin) of Moose Jaw; his sister Margaret (Lee) Donald from Big River and their children Tammy (Tony) Serzisko of Big River and their children Eric, Devin, Aspen, Jennifer (Keith) McLean from Big River and their children Dominic (Kiana Boese), Zoe (Gunner Nelson) from Big River, Cathy Donald (Weston Neufeld) and their children Ethan, Jeorgia; his nephew Ryan Sandry (Leann Strube) from Holbein and their children Talon, Cashian, and Kyler; his niece Ashley (Todd) Simister from Saskatoon and their children Brooklyn and Austin; his niece Brittney Bisson (Steven Cummings) of Saskatoon and their child Joseph; his great nephew and niece Maverick, Bailee-Jo Martel.
Lawrence was predeceased by his parents James “Jim” and Doris Sandry; his sisters Ethel Sandry (Paul Bisson) and Nancy Sandry; his niece Robin Donald (Mike Martel); his great nephews Damian Sandry and Matthew Kristian.
The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 2:00PM at the Big River Community Hall. Lawrence will be laid to rest in the Big River Cemetery.
In lieu of tributes, memorial donations may be made in memory of Lawrence to the Debden Heritage Manor (Box 608 Debden, SK S0J 0S0) or Kidney Foundation of Canada (116 – 103 St E, Saskatoon, SK. S7N 1Y7).
