1954 – 2012
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Larry Donald. He was born and raised in Prince Albert, SK. Larry is survived by his wife Dianne; his two children Kara (Chris) and their children Shelby & new great grandchild Aubree, Brittney, Courtney & Kobe; his son Cory and grandson Kadin; two sisters Shelly & her children Chris & Danielle; Patti (Harold) Stolar & their children Jordyn & Taylor of BC; two brothers Arnie and Larry (Donna) & their children Shawnee and Calvin all of Calgary; brothers and sisters-in-law Maggie MacDonald, Finn Petersen, Donna Vancoughnett and Alex McEwen. He was predeceased by his parents Mildred (Skiftun) and Dirl Donald; brother Art “Bumpy”; young niece Kelly; grandparents George & Flossie Donald and Charles & Linea Skiftun; mother and father-in-law Reta & Don McEwen; brothers-in-law Alister McEwen, Dearl MacDonald & Rod Vancoughnett and sister-in-law Dee Petersen. One of his fondest memories was summers at Candle Lake where he fished and water skied. His family also had great memories. Larry worked for the Government for 30 years first at D.N.S., then SIAST where he retired. Larry volunteered for different organizations, Crime Stoppers – Credit Union, but his greatest joy was the Winter Festival, he started as a volunteered for the outdoor events, and then became a Director, then he was the President for a few years. He was very proud as was his family and friends. Larry also golfed foursome with Cory, Alex and Rod. He loved to run; many probably saw him running all over PA. He also played badminton regularly. Larry was a friend to many and will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Calvary United Church, 114 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Nora Vedress officiating. Private Family Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Prince Albert Winter Festival.
