Laurent Joseph Grimard
1948 – 2023

 

Laurent Joseph Grimard, late of Albertville, SK, passed away on December 10, 2023 at the age of 75 with his family by his side.

Laurent lived his whole life on the family farm.  His jobs were working on the farm and farming at the same time.  He enjoyed working outside but his love was having his cattle herd.  He was able to look after them right up until he went to the hospital.

His love for sports included ball and hockey.  He played as long as he could, then started to teach girls and boys to play hockey.  He enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren, telling them stories of when he was young, and visiting with friends and relatives.

He will be missed.

Laurent is survived by his wife Linda (nee Gobeil) of 56 years; his son Rodney (Caroline) and their children Levi, Carter, and Alexis; his son Curtis (Kayla) and their children McKayla, McKeisha, Maze, and Mason; his sister, Helene Grimard; his nephew Michel Cook (Leah) and their children Emilie and Annika; his nephew Dennis Cook; his in-laws Denis Paradis, Barry (Lydia), Bill Silver, Gary (Judy), Lorraine, Marlene (Darryl), Edward (Karleen), Gerald, Leonard, and Bev (Dean); as well as many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Edmond and Berthe (nee Lavoie) Grimard; father and mother-in-law Leon and Fern (nee Middlebrook) Gobeil; his grandparents; his sisters-in-law Leona Paradis, Yvonne Silver, Janice Gaudet, and Gayle (nee Halcro) Gobeil; great nieces Taylor and Tracy; and many aunts and uncles.

In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Laurent may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

A Celebration of Laurent’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Spruce Home Hall, 20 kms North of Prince Albert.  Interment will follow at the St. James Parish Cemetery, Albertville, SK.
