Laura Eva Olsen
September 22, 1926 – September 17, 2013

With sadness the family of Laura Olsen announces her September 17th passing at the age of 87 years. Laura is survived by her husband of 27 years Louie Olsen; her son Darryl Rodocker; and her daughter Shelley (Tom) Holmes. Laura was very proud of her seven precious grandchildren Timothy (Sarah) Rodocker, Courtney (Alan) Reid, Melissa (Gary) Saar, Reid (Laura) Holmes, Neil (Samaya) Holmes, Ian Holmes, and Keith Holmes. Left to mourn are Laura’s step-children Joy Olsen, Byron Olsen, April Olsen, and Rose Olsen. Laura is also survived by her 6 great-grandchildren Zoe and Elliott Holmes, Daxton Holmes, Samantha and Sidney Rodocker, and Caleb Reid; and her brother Richard (Corey) Battersby;. Laura was predeceased by her parents George and Eva Battersby; her first husband Raymond Rodocker; her sisters Gertrude, Grace, Marion and May; and her brother Cameron. Laura was married in 1947 to Raymond Rodocker and together they farmed 5 miles from Shell Lake. She also worked as a bus driver, telephone operator, and over a decade sold real estate while residing in Prince Albert. Laura resided in Shell Lake for 47 years, and has been in Prince Albert since 1973. A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.
