June 25, 1954 – March 16, 2016

With great sadness the family of Larry Joseph Thomas announce that he passed away at home on March 18, 2016 at the age of 61 years. Larry was born to Rose (Netmaker) and Gilbert Thomas on June 25,1954. The wake service for Larry began at 6:00pm on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Big River First Nation Band Hall. The funeral service for Larry commenced at 11:00am on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Big River First Nation Band Hall with the Elders officiating. Interment followed in the Big River First Nation Catholic Cemetery. Larry leaves to cherish his memory: his children: Christopher (Trudy) Rabbitskin of Pelican Lake FN, Philestine (Roger) Rabbitskin of Big River FN, Mathew (Jenny) Rabbitskin of Big River FN, Elaine (Lorne) Rabbitskin of Wahpeton FN, Joshua (Amber) Rabbitskin of Prince Albert and Gregory (Kyla) Thomas of Big River FN; a special granddaughter, Sauvana Rabbitskin of Big River FN; an abundance of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his siblings: Willie (Cora) Thomas, Harry (Maureen) Thomas, Leona (Edward) Sasakamoose, Lorraine (Darwin) Thomas and Sylvia (Clifford) Bear; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Larry is predeased by: his spouse, Leona Rabbitskin; his parents, Gilbert and Rose(Netmaker) Thomas; his siblings: Leslie Thomas and two infant brothers. Honorary pallbearers were: all the elders, family and friends of Big River First Nation and Pelican Lake First Nation.Pallbearers were: Clarence Rabbitskin, Gary Rabbitskin, Wifred Rabbitskin, Walter Rabbitskin, Henry McAdam and Edward Sasakamoose. Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com.
