Larry Donald Henry passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the age of 63 after a courageous battle with B Cell Lymphoma.
Larry was what we call a change maker – a particular person who changed people’s lives because of his willingness to take a chance, his beliefs, and his integrity. He pressed people to be better and do better. He pushed the limits to make changes that would improve systems, programs and lives. He was driven to create an impact within his community, his family and within his 40 year career with Government of Saskatchewan, Corrections and Justice. He wanted to make a difference in the lives of everyone around him, and his willingness to give people a chance in life was evident.
Larry will forever be remembered for his kindness, his strong connection to the community, culture, and tradition. His strong work ethic, passion and determination propelled him throughout life. Larry’s passion for the community became evident at a young age as he was actively involved in hockey, baseball and cub scouts. It continued as he went on to scouting and coaching. Larry believed that we should all leave a lasting legacy – that we can make a difference and create an impact and that it is our civic duty to improve our systems for generations to come.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Donald “Duncan” Henry, and his best friend Lionel Pillar. He is survived by his loving wife Rhonda Fecyk; and his 5 children, Dr. Robert Henry (Julie) and their daughter Brielle, Brett (Juliet), Ryan (Stephanie) and their family Hannah and Mckenzie, Kadin and Kaci; his mother Theresa; sister Leanne; brother Gerald (Michelle); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
