Lane Sorenson
NewPosted 11 hours ago
Thomas Michael “Lane” Sorenson was born on June 27, 1954, in Viking, Alberta, to Stan and Ila Sorenson.
Lane was a man who found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. He loved farming, hunting, fishing, quadding, chopping wood, and target shooting. He especially treasured time spent with his family and grandchildren.
After retiring, Lane made his home at Christopher Lake, a place that truly became his retreat. It was where he felt most at peace and spent many happy days in his shop. In the winter, he could often be found cutting wood to help keep his occasional shop cats warm. In the summer, he took great pride in gardening, carefully starting his plants in the spring and enjoying the fruits of his labor—especially his tomatoes, pumpkins, and potatoes.
Lane also loved “big booms” and often entertained the children with Tannerite, creating memories and laughter that will not be forgotten.
Lane is lovingly remembered by his sister Rae, and his brother, Terry Sorenson; his daughters, Carrie, Angela, and Jamie; and his son, Riley. He will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren and by all who knew and loved him.
On March 2, 2026, Lane went to be with his Savior, Jesus.
Dad, your boots may be off and your work here done, but the lessons you taught, the laughter you shared, and the love you gave will live on in all of us. We will miss you deeply and carry your memory with us always.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort knowing Dad is now at peace in the presence of his Savior. Until we meet again, we hold tight to the promise that in Christ we will see him again.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Christ Alone Lutheran Brethren Church, Birch Hills, SK.
