Kimberley Anne Byard was born in Winnipeg, MB at the Grace Hospital on Friday, March 17, 1961, and passed away at the age of 59, on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK, after a long battle with Cancer. Kim was adopted at age three by parents, Joseph Kenneth McKay and Helen Drapak in 1964. Kim was baptized June 6, 1967 at St Anne’s Catholic Church. Growing up she attended school in Winnipeg and graduating from Miles MacDonnell Collegiate in 1979.Kim and Jamie were long-time friends from the age of 7, and welcomed their daughter in 1983, and married in 1989. In 1993 Kim and Jamie fostered Misty Dawn Morin, Star Jay Morin and Amber Sky Morin who all became a part of their family.
They opened Fantasy Realm Tattoo and piercing on Henderson Hwy in 1997 and attended University of Winnipeg for invasive procedures. They moved to Prince Albert, SK in 2007 and continued their business at 45 13th Street East. Kim and Jamie were married for 30 years, enjoyed travelling and in 2015 on a trip to Europe, they renewed their wedding vows at the oldest Monastery in Salzburg, Austria. Kim was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend to many, and leaves to mourn, her loving husband, Jamie; daughters, Sabrina (JP), Mist, Star and Amber; grandchildren, Tristan (Kirsten), Kaiden, Zareah, Antonio, Tony Jr., Brooklyn, Marc, Blake, Gabriele, and Dante; plus numerous nieces and nephews. We would like to thank all her friends and family for their love and support through these hard times. A special thank you to Cimmiron Cook for her endless devotion to Kim throughout her illness. Kim will be missed but not forgotten, and always in our hearts. The Prayer Service will be held Friday, June 12, 2020, at 45 13th Street East, Prince Albert, SK. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodière Blvd, Winnipeg, MB.
