It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ken Taylor, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ken was born in Simpson, SK, on July 25, 1946, the sixth child of ten. Ken was a skilled bricklayer for 35 years and a dedicated school custodian for 16 years. Ken and the love of his life, Donna, were married on November 12, 1966. This coming November, they would have celebrated a remarkable milestone of 60 years of marriage, a testament to a lifetime of partnership and shared dreams.
Ken’s greatest legacy is his large, vibrant family. He was the proud father of five children: Keith (Sammie), Stacey (Trevor), Graham (Lisa), Tara (Brad), and Kelly (Karen). He was a fixture in the lives of his 16 grandchildren; Taylor (Claire), Rylan (Katie), Cody (Emily), Mackenzie (Jesse), Chris (Jurnee), Mike, Kade, Joshua, Charlie, Camryn, Van, Will, Palmer, Rooke, Burke, and Tripp. Whether it was hockey, baseball, soccer, ringette, or dance, Ken was their biggest fan, never missing a chance to cheer them on from the sidelines. Ken was also blessed with 11 great-grandchildren; Rowan, Blakely, Reece, Brynlee, Lennon, Bawer, Morgan, Kash, Kesler, Blake, and Huxley, who brought him immense joy in his later years. Ken is also survived by siblings, Leslie, Joanne, Heather, Glen (Georgie) and Randy (Sandra); plus, brother and sisters-in law: Wendy (Bing), Colleen, and Trev (Shauna). He was predeceased by siblings; Marg, Shirley, Lorne and Murray.
Outside of family time, Ken found peace in the simple pleasures of life. He loved riding horses, the precision of driving a team, camping, and the friendly competition of a good game of cards with a rye and coke. Ken will be remembered for his sense of humor, pranks, and the deep love he held for his “team” at home.
A Celebration of Ken’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Plaza 88, 888 Central Ave, Prince Albert, SK.
