GEORGE, Kenneth Lloyd, BAcc, FCA – Kenn George died peacefully June 5th, 2014 at home. He was born January 14, 1922 to the late Lloyd and Florence George. He was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife Amelia. He is survived by their children, Glenn and Peggy, Les and Ann, Cheryl, Joanne (Jody), and Janice; grandchildren, Ena and Jeff McAuley, Cory and Julie George, Jennifer and Kean O'Shea, Mike and Nadine George, Leann and Bradley Murray; Davis George; Trinity and Dennis Horvath, Devona and David Saul, Tanya Marshall; great grandchildren, Avery and Addison McAuley; Ian and Ella George; Gracie and Ally George; Lilian Murray; Jillian, Kassidy and Riley Horvath; Parker and Mathew Saul; Courtney and Taylor Guderyan. He is also survived by very supportive nieces, nephew and their families. Kenn was born at home on the farm near Delisle, Saskatchewan where he grew up. He attended the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. After he and Amelia married they lived in Saskatoon and Regina before settling in Melfort to raise their family. As a Chartered Accountant he enjoyed his relationships with his clients, mentoring young professionals, and the opportunity to represent Saskatchewan on the Royal Commission on Taxation. His community service included Rotary, the Council for Crippled Children and Adults (now Saskatchewan Abilities Council) the United Church, Eastern Star and as a band parent. He was also a founding partner of radio station CJVR in Melfort. Kenn was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed family trips, fishing and golfing, and summers at Waskesui. After retirement Kenn enjoyed travel in the motor home, winters in Arizona and summers at Waskesui. He and Amelia moved to Saskatoon in 2001.The family would like to thank all his friends, old and new for their love and support during his life, with special thanks to those who made it possible for him to stay at home the last seven months. A Memorial Service was held at McClure United Church Monday June 9, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in Saskatoon. There was a private family interment. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sherbrooke Foundation, 401 Acadia Drive Saskatoon, Sask. S7H 2E7. Arrangements are entrusted to SASKATOON FUNERAL HOME . 306-244-5577
