Kenneth “Ken” Lloyd Erdman was born on August 26, 1928 in Prince Albert, SK. He spent his early years on the farm at White Star attending school at White Star School. His first job was working in construction building bridges. Ken applied and completed training to become one of the first Saskatchewan Smoke Jumpers retiring after 2 years. On October 24, 1953 he married the love of his life Mary Zdrill. Ken worked at Burns Food until its closure. He then worked for Separate School Division as a custodian until his retirement in 1993. During his retirement years, Ken loved to garden, he had enormous pride in his meticulous yard, especially his tiger lillies. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Mary; daughter Laurie; son Greg (Donna); daughter Genevieve (Dave Maunu); son Raymond; son Robert (Lori); son Mark (Kelley); grandchildren: Shawna, Tracy, Chad, Lisa, Ashley, Melodie, Karlie and Khloie; great grandchildren Kelsey, Kate and Anna, as well as numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Elizabeth Erdman; sisters Elizabeth, Irene and Cecile; his brothers Jim, Adler, Eddie, Henry, Teddy, Clyde and Arthur and his great grandson Noah Nichols. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. with Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015 with Celebrant Reverend Father Tuan Doan. Both services will be held at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 589 – 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 – 3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8 or to a Charity of Donor’s Choice.
