Ken Rocheleau
(January 15, 1939 – November 18, 2011)
Ken was born on January 15, 1939 and passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 18, 2011 after his short battle with cancer.
Ken grew up in Prince Albert, where he met the love of his life Elsie Cowan. On Sept 14, 1957 they were married and shortly after, moved to Edmonton, Alberta. Over the next few years Ken & Elsie were blessed with 4 children, Shelly, Greg, Don & Bradley. In 1971 Ken & Elsie were saddened by the loss of their youngest child Bradley. Ken moved his family back to Prince Albert where he worked for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool for the next 27 years.
In 1997 Ken retired at the young age of 58 and he and Elsie moved to Candle Lake. He spent those years enjoying all the simple things in life, quading, fishing, snowmobiling, wood work, spending time with family and all his wonderful Candle Lake friends! Ken & Elsie also enjoyed travelling throughout the years to Hawaii, Disney Land, Europe & throughout Canada. Due to Ken's illness they moved back to Prince Albert in August 2011.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Elsie; one daughter Shelly (Dennis Brown); two sons Greg (Connie) and Don (Cheryl); grandchildren: Chad (Brandy), Christina (Troy), Michael (Samantha), Cody, Todd, Kyle (Jessie), Kevin (Sabrina), Angela (Darcy), Gord (Ashley), Kim (Dennis) and Christine; great Grandchildren: Ava, Brooklyn, Ty, Jake, Layla, Isabella, Beth and Simon; two sisters Sheila (George Carruthers) & children Kerry & Dean and Margaret (Denis Lefebvre) & children Leslie & Joel; one brother: Danny (Theresa) Lucier; a special sister-in-law Barbara Cowan; special family friend Wayne Parenteau; as well as many brothers & sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews & cousins. He was predeceased by his son Bradley; mother and father Theresa Rocheleau and Ray LaRose; two sisters Shirley Bailey and Linda Lucier; one brother George Lucier and mother-in-law and father-in-law Tom and Johanna Cowan.
Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 589 – 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Mrs. Margaret Ferchuk officiating. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9 or Victoria Hospital Foundation, 1200 – 24th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 5T4.
