Kelvin passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on February 13, 2018, at the age of 58 Kelvin is survived by his loving wife Cheryl of nearly 39 years, Children: Jennifer (Justin) Sjogren; Ty (Brette), Sierra, Saydi, Meeya; Allison (Brennan) MacDonald; Mikhail (Rilynn), Parker, Keslee; Jordan (Eryn) Tait; Ashton, Jacob ; goddaughter: Chantelle Lafontaine. His mother: Dorothy (Granny); brother: Lloyd (Lois); brother-in-law’s and sister-in-law’s: Alcide (Joan) Boyer; Annette (Gordon) LaPlante; Louis (Marilyn) Boyer; Yvette Boyer; Sid Boyer; Michelle (Wayne) Lafontaine. numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father: Arnold; brother: Art; mother-in-law: Eveleyn; father-in-law: Joe Boyer; brother-in-law: Ron Boyer. Kelvin was born on June 17, 1959 to Arnold and Dorothy Tait in Prince Albert, Sk. He was the youngest of three boys. Kelvin went to MacDowall School from Kindergarten to Grade Eight. He enjoyed horseback riding, softball, and hockey as a kid. Kelvin started working for the city of Prince Albert at the age of sixteen. In February of 1979 he married Cheryl Boyer. Together they had three kids: Jennifer, Allison and Jordan. As a young couple, Kelvin and Cheryl lived in St. Louis, later moving to the rural area just down the road from his parents. Together they enjoyed playing broomball and curling. Kelvin continued to work for the city while still cattle farming. He was always a very hard worker. Hunting and farming was a big part of Kelvin’s life. He always knew where to find the biggest buck, and shared this passion with his son, grandson’s and friends. Kelvin retired after 35 years with the city in 2013 due to medical reasons. This did not keep him from enjoying his grandchildren’s ball and hockey games. Kelvin always lived his life to the fullest. His nicknames, jokes, songs, and sense of humor will be truly missed by all who knew him. Special thanks from the family to Dr. Lotz and all the homecare staff. A Celebration of Life will be held at MacDowall Lions Recreation Centre on February 16th at 2:00 p.m. with Celebrant Linda Moriarty.
