It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Keith Allan Derksen, age 76, of Candle Lake, Saskatchewan, born August 3, 1949.
Keith was predeceased by his parents, Caroline and Allan Derksen, and his brother, Glenn Derksen.
He is lovingly remembered by his partner, Norma McBain, and her children Clint (Jacquie) and Dawn, as well as grandchildren Cody, Alia, Troy, and Tacoa. Keith is also survived by his siblings Joanell (Leagh), Randy (Kris), Colette (Bob), Murray (Michele), and Kathy (Steve), along with sister-in-law Karen, and many nieces and nephews who held him dearly.
Keith spent many years working with ERCO Worldwide in Saskatoon before retiring. Long before he officially stepped back from work, purchased a lot at Candle Lake with Norma and poured his heart into building a cabin—a place that would become home. He and Norma spent their summers there and wintered in Arizona, embracing a life filled with movement, sunshine, and simple joys.
Keith loved quadding, snowmobiling, and puttering around the cabin, always happiest with a project on the go. He cherished his annual fishing trips with his brothers—gatherings filled with laughter, tall tales, and the kind of traditions that anchor a family for generations.
He will be remembered with love by all who knew him.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Mont St. Joseph Home in Prince Albert for their compassionate and loving care.
