Kathleen Relitz

Kathleen Relitz passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in Prince Albert at the age of 96 years. She was born Tuesday, January 28, 1919 in Melfort, SK, and raised in the Silver Park District. Her mother passed away when Kathleen was a child, and her father went off to war. Kathleen and her brothers Raymond and Gerald went to live with an aunt. Her father returned after the war, gathered his children and they stayed farming in Silver Park. While Kathleen was a teenager, the family moved to Weekes. On January 4, 1938, she married Norman Relitz who passed away in 1948. In November of 1949, Kathleen married his brother Fred. Later, the family moved to Prince Albert and Fred worked as a milkman for Glass Dairies. With a family of six children, Kathleen and Fred took in Steve Visi, a Hungarian refugee, who became like another son. Fred passed away in 1985, and Kathleen resided in Sherman Towers, later becoming a resident of Sunny Days Care Home, where she found a new ‘family’. Her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her constant joy. Kathleen will be lovingly remembered by: her children Judy (Bill) Zaparaniuk and their children Lori (Rob) – Jordan and Jenna, David (Tash) – Jesse; Keith (Sylvia) Relitz and their children Trevor (Kristy) – Daniel and Lauren, Kevin (Jenny) – Markus; Floyd (Judie) Relitz and their son Chris (Kim) – Danika and Bree; Harold Burge and his children Karen – Rebecca, David, Tabatha, Samson, Michael, Christina – Crystal, Jacqueline; Sharon and Ian Plummer’s family Darren (Kim) – Brayden, Derrick (Holly) – Dawn (John); Archie’s family Debbie (Doug) – Roxanne and Brittany, Leanne – Keanna, Allyssa and Ryder, Chad (Jax), Brian (Connie); her daughter-in-law Wilma. She was predeceased by: her husband Fred; her daughter Sharon (Ian) Plummer; her son Archie; her daughter-in-law Joan; her husband Norman; her parents Taylor and Jesse Tollefson. Funeral will take place at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 20 from Gateway Covenant Church, Prince Albert with Reverend Stacia Michael and Christopher Relitz officiating. Interment will take place at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of RIVER PARK MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Prince Albert, 306 764-2727, Donald M.
