It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Katherine Fay Darlene Tomyn (nèe Leach) of MacDowall, SK.
She passed away just after midnight on May 23, 2022, at the age of 79, from lung cancer while surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home, in Saskatoon, SK.
She was born on November 12, 1942 as the youngest of twelve children. A country girl at heart, she lived in many small towns over the course of her youth. She was married to Paul Tomyn on September 26, 1959, and helped on the family farm with him during their 62 years of marriage.
Katherine had strong ties to the MacDowall community through the Lioness with volunteer work and was known well. She loved to watch curling, the Saskatchewan Rough Riders games, and the Toronto Blue Jays games; and could often be found doing puzzles and reading.
Katherine is survived by her husband, Paul; and their four children, Mike (Elaine), Faye, Donald, and Gordon (Brenda); her grandchildren, Amber, Julie, Alan, Amanda (Taylor), Tanner (Chelsea), Courtney; her great-granddaughter, Karaline; and her siblings, Danny, Pauline, and Vivian. As well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother, Dora; her father, Gordon; her step-father, Dave; and eight siblings; as well as her good friends, Jeannine and Gertie.
