The family of Karen McKeachie is saddened to announce her sudden passing on August 2, 2021 at the Melfort Hospital in Melfort, SK.
Karen Edith McKeachie was born on April 19, 1950 in Tisdale, SK to Doris and Ray McKeachie. She grew up on the farm and attended school with her older sister Diana. As a child, the family moved around and finally settled in Wilkie, SK. Karen attended McLurg High School and graduated in 1968. She enjoyed playing basketball and badminton. Karen also participated in Drama, Choir, and Glee Club. High School is where she met her best friend Cordellia. Karen married Peter Sali on October 18, 1969 in Wilkie, SK. Karen went on to have jobs, including the Bank of Nova Scotia and finishing her career with the Victoria Union Hospital in Prince Albert, SK. During the years, Karen enjoyed playing softball, the odd basketball game with the grandchildren and most of all fishing. Karen lived in Tisdale, Edmonton, McBride, Vernon, Prince Albert, St. Louis and Nipawin. In each case, Karen enjoyed gardening, growing flowers with her favorite being the Tiger Lily. Over the years, she has had many pets, but none so loved as Morgan. Morgan was her companion for the past 10 years and stayed by her side until she had to go to Chateau Providence in St. Brieux, SK. Above all else in life, nothing was more important to her than her family.
Karen will be lovingly remembered by her: son Raymond (Casey) Sali and grandchildren: Alyssa, Raelene, Andrew and Chase; daughter Marlene Sali and grandchildren: Brett, Brendan, Madison and Samantha; sister Diana Fengstad; niece Donna; and nephews Ward and Skipp.
Karen is predeceased by her: husband Peter Sali (May 16, 2010); grandchild Troy Lee Wasyluk (October 12, 2005); parents Ray and Doris McKeachie; and lap (dog) companion, Morgan.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28 Street West, Prince Albert, SK.
