Karen Mathieu

Karen Daisy Mathieu (nee White), 74, of Prince Albert, SK, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2020, at Saskatoon City Hospital, in Saskatoon, SK. She was born on Sunday, August 25, 1946, in Smeaton, SK, to Stella and Reg White.
Karen leaves behind her sister, Elva Dickenson of Prince Albert; her two sons, Maurice (Reola) Mathieu of Asquith, Darren Mathieu of Prince Albert; her grandchildren, Ethan, Alden, Kayden, Lauren and Olivia; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many cousins. She was predeceased by her father; mother; spouse, Paul; and brothers, Rodney and Clayton.
Karen was a long-time resident of The Pas, MB. She worked for several years at The Pas Correctional Centre, where she touched the lives of the people she worked with. She cooked in many cafeterias and catered many weddings. She shared her love of cooking with her family and was known for making the best perogies, dainties, and cinnamon buns.
She loved to cook and enjoyed reading and playing card games. She enjoyed dogs, going to garage sales on the weekends and spending time with her grandchildren. Karen was a devoted Christian and gave a lot of her time to her church and other organizations. Karen always had words of encouragement and support and lots of love to give to her family and friends.
A funeral service for Karen will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Calvary United Church, 114 25 Street East, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 1S5.
