Karen Pilon passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton. Karen was born in Prince Albert, SK on November 9, 1965. She was the fourth child and only daughter of Opal and the Late Clarence Harris. Karen attended Wild Rose Elementary School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Prince Albert. She welcomed her son Adam in 1982. Karen met the love of her life, Clarence Pilon in 1993. They welcomed a daughter Amy in 1995. Karen and Clarence were married in June of 1996. Becoming a grandma was the highlight of her life. In 2005 she welcomed a grandson Ashton, and 2007 her granddaughter Adyson was born. They held a special place in her heart. Karen was employed at Minto Bowl, Reitmans, and then at Prince Albert Co-op Marketplace since 1996 and continued until her illness forced her to go on long-term disability. In her spare time she enjoyed slow pitch, bowling and later on she became a Prince Albert Raider season Ticket Holder. Karen is survived by her loving husband Clarence Pilon; her children Adam Harris, Amy Pilon; her step children Melissa Pilon, Megan Pilon, Amanda Pilon; her grandchildren Ashton and Adyson Harris; her mother Opal Harris; her mother-in-law Irene (Ray) Schlosser; her brothers Carmen (Rosalyn), Calvin (Janet), Ralph (Brenda) and Boyd (Cindy); her brothers-in-law Leo (Debbie), Ralph (Jennifer), Greg (Tammy); her sisters-in-law Stella Pilon (Darko), Diane (Garth) Halcro; her godparents Gerald and June Fillmore; and many loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and special friends. Karen was predeceased by her grandparents Sidney and Edna Harris, John and Gladys Roode, Pierre and Stella Parenteau, George and Eva Pilon; her father Clarence Harris; her father-in-law Wilfred Schlosser; her brother Wendell Harris; her brothers-in-law Darrell Pilon and Vincent Pilon; her uncle Gordon Harris; her nephews Leon Harris and Wade Harris; and her niece Kirsten Harris. Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Art Hauser Centre, Ches Leach Lounge (South Entrance) 690B – 32nd Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Norbert Haukenfrers officiating. Interment will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of other tributes donations can be made to the Karen Pilon Organ Donor Awareness Foundation, Conexus Credit Union, 2800 – 2nd Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 5Z4.
