Our Beloved Kale Morgan Smith was tragically and suddenly taken on the evening of Monday, December 21st, 2020. Kale was welcomed to this world by his loving parents James and Denise (Tenaschuk.) Smith, and his big sister Carlie Anne on the 2nd of March 1990 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. In his childhood, he attended St. Johns community School and Graduated into adulthood from St. Mary High School in the summer of 2009.
Kale is predeceased by his grandparents, William and Sophie Tenaschuk of Meath Park, Jim and Ella Smith of Endeavour, and sadly his mother Denise (Tenaschuk) Smith who has reunited with her son with loving arms.
Kale was blessed with a very active childhood in the forests and lakes around his hometown of Prince Albert. Camping and fishing were a favorite family pastime, and Kale became a skilled outdoorsman. He loved building campfires, going fishing, or tenting, or just plain finding enjoyment in God’s little creatures. Many which of course found their way into the Smith home and were very well cared for in special aquariums and habitats designed carefully for the critters to also feel at home. Kale was doted on by his parents, and his sister Carlie was his greatest champion and defender. Kale was very much loved by the numerous aunties, uncles, cousins, and other relatives. All of whom could clearly see Kales warmth, his compassion, and who loved his smiles and cuddles. Kale made everyone around him feel blessed with his easy-going attitude and deeply kind and caring personality. So much so that he accumulated a community of very good friends and upstanding young people who actively sought each other out at every possibility. Kale and his friends often enjoyed gaming either on a board with a game of Settlers of Catan, or on a screen with role-playing epic heroes in World of Warcraft. Jim’s Garage became the most popular spot for late-night card games and camaraderie because of Kales’s welcoming nature.
Kale worked hard to earn his degree in Computer Network Engineering and was looking forward to a rewarding career in front of him. Computers were Kales’s passion only second to his devotion and love for his family. Kale recently moved home to live with his father, James, and to begin looking for steady work and continue his training while close to home. While being home, Kale and his dad, spent as much time camping and fishing as they could. Kale also adored and spent as much time as he could with the light of their lives, Cooper. Kale played endlessly and patiently with his nephew, they were best friends, and they remain together forever in eternity.
Kale is survived by his grieving father James Boyd Smith, and his most loving sister Carlie Anne (Smith) Rothwell, his brother in law Chance Rothwell, and his niece Caitlyn Rae Anne Rothwell, as well as his aunties, Melva Chestolowski, Ida (Ed) Chubak, and Theresa (Keith) Chubak, Roberta (Lorne) Luchinski, Cindy Smith (Leonard Puchala), and his Uncles Gary (Cindy) Tenaschuk and Melvin (Brenda) Tenaschuk, as well as numerous cousins and friends.
An Internment and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of tributes, memorial donations may be made in memory of Kale to either the STARS Air Ambulance (2475 Airport Rd, Saskatoon, SK S7L 1M4) or to the Shellbrook Fire & Rescue Dept.
