“Kalci Jean” Gusdal, our pretty girl, daddy’s best friend, lil Guzz, born August 22, 2003 in Prince Albert to proud parents Warren & Bonnie Gusdal and big brother Tyler passed away peacefully with her family holding her hands and surrounded by loved ones on September 3, 2024 in Prince Albert at the age of 21 years.
Known for her radiant smile and beautiful eyes, she would light up any room she entered and fill your heart with warmth. As soon as you met her you couldn’t help but fall in love. Spending time with family and friends was important to Kalci, especially through the holidays.
She is remembered for her love of sports, especially volleyball, animals and dedication to obtaining her nursing BSN degree so she could help people, favoring a career to work with newborn babies and moms in the obstetrics department.
Kalci was the most beautiful baby with those famous bright blue eyes and vibrant smile. She was the most energetic playful child that loved to follow her brother anywhere he went, his partner in crime.
She quickly became daddy’s best friend with her love to quad, snowmobile, fish – both in the winter and spring and just be at his side learning to change tires, oil in the vehicles and general maintenance on anything that needed to be done.
She was mommy’s pretty girl with her love to do her girlie things, shopping trips, pedicures, movie nights and simply sitting around a campfire telling stories and sharing laughs. Ohhhhh the hours at the camper.
Kalci was never afraid to try anything from her days of swimming lessons, dance, hockey with her “brothers”, light horse 4H and all the school sports making her school proud with how she represented and excelled. Her true passion was her beloved volleyball, both competitive and high school.
Kalci started her early days at Lakeland Daycare from an infant to her preschool days then moving on to Christopher Lake School from Kindergarten to Grade 8, graduating from Carlton High School to right before her passing a 3rd Year Nursing student at the U of S in Prince Albert Campus.
She had a way like no other for animals starting with her horse “Kokanee” and then her beloved companion “Duke” – the dog she always wanted, who was always by her side.
Kalci was blessed to see many places in her short life. Trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Cuba and Disneyland with both family and friends. Her trips to BC surfing the Shuswap’s were amongst one of her favorites and her last venture this past July. She also loved the short trips for sports, oh how she loved the memories made with her teammates, not to mention the bus rides with her brother and his team mates for his sports. She was proud to finally have a bus trip of her own with her En Fuego Toppers Volleyball Team and Kalci being Kalci, organized it all on her own right down to the bottle drive to cover the expenses.
Kalci is survived by her loving parent Warren & Bonnie Gusdal (née Linfitt), brother Tyler (Jill Power), grandparents Bill & Mary Jean Linfitt, uncles and aunts Ken & Cheryl Gusdal (Kendra), Wendy Gusdal & Glenn Brassard (Cain, Gerry), Brian & Deanna Dawiskiba (Taylor, Kylea), Corey & Corinne Linfitt (Amelie, William, Nikki, Nolan), special auntie Darnella Petruniak and special friends Chase Freidt-Mohr, Carsyn Dogniez and Abbie Sumners as well as several great aunts, uncles, cousins and those she loved like family. She was predeceased by her grandparents Glenn & Flo (BABA) Gusdal.
