It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Kaitlyn Jamie Gryba on March 19, 2026, at the age of 39.
Kaitlyn was born on October 14, 1986, to Philip and Kathy Gryba. She had two loving and deeply connected sisters, Krista and Komar. From the beginning Kait brought light and warmth into the lives of those around her. Despite the challenges of living with cerebral palsy, her spirit remained fearless. She lived a full and meaningful life, touching countless hearts with her kindness, strength and genuine spirit.
She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her infectious laugh and the joy she brought into everyday moments. Her love for family and friends was unwavering, and she developed deep and lasting relationships throughout her life.
Kaitlyn attended Quill Lake School from Kindergarten through grade 8. She then completed her high school education at Carlton Comprehensive High School in Prince Albert from grades 9 through 12. Kaitlyn was always up for adventure! With the use of adaptive equipment, she enjoyed downhill skiing, snowmobiling, knitting, bowling and biking. She also enjoyed, reading, shopping, playing cards, camping at Waskesiu, going for coffee with her friends, attending live concerts, taking long walks, sitting in “Her Happy Place”, all things Telemiracle, and spoiling her nieces and nephews. Kaitlyn never missed watching the Raiders’ games on her iPad. Her favourite time of year was during the summer months being involved in her beloved Summer Program.
Kaitlyn found happiness in life’s simple pleasures and cherished time spent with those she loved. Her spirit will live on in every story told, every memory cherished and the enduring love she leaves behind as a quiet, guiding light for all who knew her.
She is survived by her parents, Philip and Kathy Gryba; baba, Bertha Gryba; grandma, Ann Kelly; two sisters, Krista (Barrett) McCann and children, Mischa and Kinsley; Komar (Calvin) Andreas and children, Caebryn, Kairis and Edison; and extended niece and nephew, Layla and Jameson Romanuik. She was predeceased by her gido, Edward ‘Oscar’ Gryba; grandfather, Dave Wilson; step-grandfather, Alfred Kelly; uncle, Richard Gryba; great-aunt, Joyce Gryba; and cousin, Shawn McGilvery. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her story lives on forever and will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., on April 25, 2026, at St. Joseph Parish, 260 25 St E, Prince Albert, SK. To celebrate Kaitlyn’s vibrant spirit, guests are invited to wear a touch of her favorite colour – Red.
In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Kaitlyn, may be made in support of Telemiracle, a cause close to her heart. As the family will be presenting these donations during next year’s broadcast, contributions are being gratefully accepted by her parents, Philip and Kathy Gryba.
