June Lehner
In her final selfless act on earth, June Lehner expended her remaining energy in this life to lighten the burden of her loved ones—and, by doing so, surprised… no one. June Lehner passed away on July 21, 2021, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan at the age of 79.
June impacted our lives in so many ways. She shaped who we are and who we will be. She was the kind of person who had an endless supply of generous love, eager to share. Her door and her heart were always open. “Come on in,” were familiar, welcome words. She always had a pot of chicken soup on layaway for anyone who came to visit or if we weren’t feeling well.
A dedicated mother and grandmother loving us without conditions, she celebrated our successes as well, and was a key supporter of the arts, rarely missing a theatre or dance performance or important occasion. June knew what it meant to live life to its fullest—she smiled easily, taking real pride in her family and their achievements. It’s hard to imagine a life event without her presence to bless and enhance it.
She was everything to everyone. A strong lady, beautiful inside and out! Her caring, comforting words will be missed by all. Although there are no words to describe our relationship with her, it was something we knew and felt in our hearts. She has left a void that cannot be filled—an amazing woman with an incredible amount of class and a touch for kindness that simply cannot be replaced.
She was well-read, an enviable hostess with old-world collections and sensibilities that created a world of warmth and wonder for anyone who came to visit. She was someone we loved to be around. A talented, impeccable decorator at home and the lake. Emma Lake was a special place to her and Ron. And we can’t forget her love of teddy bears. ‘Jerome’ was there right to the end.
We know that we will be together someday, but until then, we will miss her with all our heart and soul. So, “walk slowly” June down the beautiful tunnel, because you taught us a lot except how to live without you. You poured your life into your family and we are eternally grateful. Our cup runneth over.
