Julia Zarowny

ZAROWNY – Julia (nee Rypta) passed away on January 21, 2013 at the Hafford Special Care Home. She was born on January 18, 1919 in the Hafford District to Emil and Helen (nee Nemish) Rypta. Her father, Emil was born in Bukovinia, Romania and her mother, Helen, was born in East Galacia, Austria. Julia was the oldest in a family of four, George, Matthew and Anna. She attended Canada School and on October 26, 1948 married Walter Zarowny. They settled at Krydor to farm and eventually moved to North Battleford, then Hafford where Julia worked at the Arcade Café and in later years, at the Hafford Nursing Home. Julia was predeceased by her husband, Walter; parents, Emil and Helen; sister, Anna; brothers, George and Matthew; her niece’s husband, Peter Saluk; her nephews, Percy and Ervin Church; brother-in-law, Lawrence Church; and sister-in-law, Kathleen Rypta. Left to cherish her memory are her niece, Linda (John) Garden and their children, Joshua and Rebecca; niece, Mary Saluk and her children Walter Saluk (Taylor and Alexis Derbowka) and Veronica Saluk (Alex Pfeifer); great nephew, Jason Church; special friends, Merv and Mary Lesko; and various other relatives and friends who shared in her life. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church, Hafford, SK. Arrangements entrusted to Hawryluk Funeral Home. 497.3355
