1936 – 2012
Julia passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 21, 2012 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Rosthern, SK on January 12, 1936 and moved to Prince Albert in 1943. Julia married Milt Tyacke (a band Leader) in 1956. Due to his occupation they travelled extensively through the U.S. eventually settling in Minneapolis, MN until 1996 when they moved back to Prince Albert. She loved travelling, dancing, music, reading, sewing, Ukrainian embroidery, bingo and cooking for her family. The most important part of her life was family whom she loved and cherished. Julia is survived by her five children Carol (Bix) Johnson-Brooks & her children Chiloe (Keith) Kottke & their three children, Teara (Tom) Meyers & their two children & Alexandra; Liana (Steve Kent) & their children Michael, Michelle & Liam; Brock (Kim) & their children Courtney & Danielle; Hal & his children Ashley & Jason; and Heather (Robert deceased 2010) Tamble & their sons Cody, Devon & Bryce; brother Bill (Grace) Zaleschuk; sister Ann (Emil) Kit; sisters-in-law Clem (late John) Zaleschuk, Pat (late Bob) Zaleschuk and Pat (late Allan) Zaleschuk; half sister Dodie Nelson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Julia was predeceased by her husband Milt; parents John and Juliana Zaleschuk and brothers John, Bob and Allan and Jimmy in infancy. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Father Travis Myrheim.
