1948 – 2012
Judy Paradis passed away at the Victoria Hospital on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the age of 64. She was born to Ted and Harriette Milton in Melville, SK. Judy is survived by her husband Claude; daughter Micheline; sisters and Glenda (Donnie) Bodnarchuk, Helen (John) Lavers and Susan (Willie) Lipinski; brothers Brian and Bill (Sadie) Milton and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Ted and sister Donna Milton. Growing up, Judy’s passion was caring for her horses and donkey with her sister Susan. After high school she moved to Calgary and stayed with her sister Glenda and attended business school. She later worked at Jack Carter Dealership and Alberta Government Telephones. Judy met Claude and they married on April 7, 1972. Together they had a daughter on February 27, 1973 and named her Micheline after a dear Quebec friend. Judy and Claude settled in Prince Albert, SK in 1980, on an acreage south of the city. They had some challenging but rewarding years raising many animals on their hobby farm and growing beautiful flowers. Judy enjoyed helping many customers over the 15 years she worked at the Saan Store. After she could no longer work, she joined the Saskatchewan Brain Injury Association (SBIA) in Prince Albert, she loved and looked forward to going to camp at Arlington Beach with Micheline and Pat. Judy will be remembered by her loving kindness, generous spirit, sense of humour and love of animals. Her hobbies included collecting frogs and snowmen, crocheting, gardening, baking and restoring furniture. Her favourite holidays were Christmas and Halloween, expressing her delight with baking and decorating. She loved spending time with Claude in his workshop, making giant bonfires and watching Coronation Street. Judy treasured many beloved pets including, cats, dogs, horses, donkeys and geese. She will be missed dearly by her family and everyone who was touched by her kindness. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Scarborough Baptist Church, 2650 – 5th Avenue East, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Gerry Wortman officiating. Interment will be held at Davis Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Transverse Myelitis Association http://myelitis.org or to the Saskatchewan Brain Injury Association (SBIA). Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, Marianne Turcotte, Funeral Director.
