It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Joyce Irma Pickering (Nee: Dalgetty). She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many, as well as an avid dog lover. Mom was actively involved in the Prairie Provinces with the Canadian Figure Skating Association as a Judge for many years, in addition to participating with Scouts Canada and Beta Sigma Phi in the ’70s. Mom enjoyed travelling with our dad, especially spending time with him at their little piece of paradise, “Pickering Island,” Besnard Lake, Saskatchewan. She is survived by her 3 children Kimberley, Kelly, and Darren (Audrey); her 9 grandchildren Ben (Sarah), Anthony, David, Donald, Braden, Brittany, Aaron, Aidan, and Adam; and her 5 great-grandchildren (Windsor, Ontario) Michael Jayden, Lillian Rose, Anna Lee, Carlee-Ann Davee, and Brody Dale; as well as her sister, Dorothy (Albequerque) and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 44 ½ years, David (2001); her eldest son, Dale (1976); her mother, Hilda (1997); her father, James (1979); her brother, George (2000); her mother-in-law, Ardree (1981); her father-in-law, Edward (1996) and her ever loved “Misty” (August 28, 2012). “Dad – you now have a full dozen roses again, as mom makes her way to you.” Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at St. Albans Cathedral, 1410 Bishop McLean Crescent, Prince Albert, SK with The Very Reverend Kenneth O. Davis officiating. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society &/or Kinsmen Telemiracle.
