Charles, Joyce Vera – Joyce passed away peacefully on September 23, 2012. Joyce is survived by her children, Bob (Dulcie) Charles and their children Christina and Anne, and Lynn (Lloyd) Crookshanks and their children Jessica and Adam. She is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Mary Hack and Jack (Emma) Gillespie; as well as many brother- and sister-in-laws. Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Walter; and parents, Percy and Vera Gillespie. Born in Racine, Wisconsin in 1928, Joyce moved to Durban, Manitoba at a young age and grew up on the family farm. It was there she met and married Walter. Together they eventually settled in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and raised their two children. Joyce enjoyed working at the Farm Credit Corporation until she retired in 1988. Joyce and Walter enjoyed travelling and camping. Mom was at her best when family and friends came to visit. Joyce is best remembered by her family for her love of sewing, knitting and baking. It was her love and devotion to her grandchildren that occupied so many days of her retirement. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the Good Shepherd Villas for their kind and loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joyce may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan or a charity of choice. A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held Friday, September 28, 2012 at 2:00 PM, at MacKenzie Chapel, 130 – 9th Street East, Prince Albert.
