It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Josephine Choumont on Friday, November 22, 2019, in Prince Albert, SK. Mom loved family gatherings where she could cook and feed everyone. It didn’t matter when you stopped in for a visit. She always had something cooking on the stove. She enjoyed camping and boating. She loved when they bought the cabin at Dore Lake. She developed many friendships sitting around the fire visiting. Mom always had a big heart. She worked at North Park Center for many years and loved working with the residents there, so much that when North Park closed she opened her home to care for some of those residents. Mom’s sense of humor was infectious and little warped. We had many good laughs over the years because of it. Family meant everything to mom. Her children were her best friends. Words cannot express the impact mom has had on so many of us. Mom always worked so hard raising her family, working at her jobs and caring for others. This is who she was. Mom spent her finals years at Mont Saint Joseph’s Care Home. We cannot say thank you enough to the staff there who treated mom with dignity and respect. Josephine leaves to mourn, her children, Sharron (Ben) LaHaye, Barb (Cliff) Wykes, Wendy (Claude) LeBrun, Marcella (Brian) Garson, Marty (Gerri) Choumont, Ramona Choumont, Lori Choumont-Roy, Shannon (Brian) Brass, Brad (Bonnie) Choumont, Leslie (Terry) Clarke; her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, Dan Ross, Roderick Ross, Fred Ross; her sister-in-law, Irma Choumont (Berni). She was predeceased by her husband, Ed Choumont; her daughter, Sandra Brass; her son-in-law, Darwin Roy; her parents, Ernest and Cecile Ross; her siblings, Robert, Billy, Yvonne, Lillian, Marie, Patsy, George, Phillip and Jack. The Funeral Service for Josephine will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1401 4 Ave W, Prince Albert, SK, Father Roque Concepcion officiating. Interment to follow at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mont Saint Joseph Care Home, 777 28 Street East, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 8C2.
