It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joseph Raymond Marten, late of Fond Du Lac, SK on September 10^th, 2023, at the age of 88 years. Joseph was born in Fort Chip, AB on June 14^th, 1935, to John & Valentine Marten. Joseph will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years Elizabeth Marten; his children Marlene (Wayne) Naldzil, Julianne Marten, Rita (Albert) Adam, Kathleen (Joe) Marten, Leonard (Eileen) Marten, Flora (Clarence) Beavereye, Nelda (Ivan) Adam, Jaqueline (Andrew) Isadore, Bruce (Charlene) Marten, Annette (Paul) Lidguerre, Nancy (Robert) Fern, Raymond (Corrine) Marten, Erica (Chester) Marten, & Valerie (Scully) Stenne; His 39 grandchildren; His 62 great-grandchildren; His 5 great-great-grandchildren; his daughter-in-law Priscilla Marten; his sister Rita (Tim) Vermillion; his brother Joe (Vi) Marten; his sister-in-law Cecelia Martin; his cousin: Allan Pacquette; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, & friends. Joseph was predeceased by his children Oliver Marten, & Baby Nancy Marten; his grandchildren Anthony, Amy, Christian, Zanna, Casmiera, Linden, Aden, Antonio, & Carlene; his great-great-granddaughter Arianna McDonald; his sons-in-law Danny Boy Pische, & Paul Randile; his parents John (Valentine) Marten; his brothers Eddie Marten, Lawrence Marten, & Robert Marten; his sisters 2 @ infancy, Mary McKay, Alice Marten, Katie (Albert) Whitehead, Georgina Dempsie, & Lena Campbell; his brothers-in-law Reggie McKay, & Marten Martin; his aunt & uncle Victor (Dora) Pacquette, & Emerance Pacquette; his great grandfather Justin (Wife) Marten; his in-laws Jimmy (Eva) Fern, & Leon (Julienne) Fern; his stepmother Rosalie Marten; as well as numerous family and friends. A Wake Service will be commencing September 10^th, 2023, at the residence of Elizabeth Marten in Fond Du Lac, SK. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, September 13^th, 2023, at 2 PM at Our Lady of Seven Sorrows Roman Catholic Church in Fond Du Lac, SK. The Officiant will be Father Paul Oshin, & the cross-bearer will be Erin Fern. The Honourary Pallbearers are Leonard Marten, Bruce Marten, Raymond Marten, Wayne Naldzil, Carl Isadore, Albert Adam, Ivan Adam, Andrew Isadore, Paul Lidguerre, Robert Fern, Chester Isadore, Scully Stenne, Clarence Beavereye, and all those who shared in Joseph’s life. The Pallbearers are Eric Naldzil, Issac Marten, Andy Adam, Kelly Pische, Kyle Martin, Lennie Crookedneck, Ivan Jr. Adam, Cody Martin, Robert Jr. Fern, Hunter Martin, Carlos Marten, Shaden Stenne, Zachery Stenne, Justin Marten, Laurent Noey, Mitchell Naldzil, Ian Isadore, & Carl Beavereye. The Interment will take place at the Fond Du Lac Cemetery in Fond Du Lac, SK.
